Aimee’s Dance…

Here’s a short piece inspired by Emily Jane Brontë’s The Night Is Darkening Round me. I worked on this soundscape with a Performing Arts Student who had been given the poem as a stimulus for a dance project, and you will hear her voice on the track. Its a kind of weird mishmash of moving soundscapes, electronica and orchestral score. Here is the full text of the poem, and the audio sample is at the end of this post. Enjoy…

The night is darkening round me,
The wild winds coldly blow;
But a tyrant spell has bound me,

The giant trees are bending
Their bare boughs weighed with snow;
The storm is fast descending,
And yet I cannot go.
