In Memorium…

Saturday, June 13th, 2009

On Saturday the 30th of May 2009, my Grandfather Cyril Yorke sadly passed away aged 75. His funeral will be held this coming Tuesday.

One of his favourite songs of all time was Ave Maria, and I was asked to sing it at the funeral. However, I didn’t think I’d be able to do that, so I agreed to record a version of it instead to be played during the service.

I have included a shortened version here, and hope that you will listen peacefully and enjoy this recording, keeping in mind the background behind it. thank you.

This is a sample of that recording. Enjoy…

I’ll probably rerecord it one of these days now that I’m really good with this stuff! Enjoy…

Here’s a sample of a short Celtic piece I composed for a computer game intro. I used the Yamaha Motif ES 6, Cakewalk Sonar 4, a tin whistle and sound recordings I made using a Edirol R09 and Rode NT4 stereo microphone. I actually sketched the idea for this piece while I was waiting for a student to turn up!
